Unable to change resolution

by Skitzz » Tue Mar 15, 2016 3:19 pm

I started playing on the server last Friday, and for 3 days everything worked like clockwork, my resolution was set to my monitor's native resolution, which is 1920x1080p, and I was playing on 120hz. Life was goot.

Yesterday I got home to WoW taking a big shit, my resolution was at 1080 and my options were restricted to 1600. But somehow I managed to fix it and I was able to play on a 19020x1080 resolution again, which is my main concern here. It might be important to note that I did fuck around with config.wtf both yesterday and today, but it didn't help me much since I couldn't get past the writeblock on the WTF folder (I've tried disabling it in the windows cmd console, but for some reason I always got the message that my parameters were wrong so I gave up trying).

Has anybody experienced the same problem? It's extremely fucking frustrating, and going from 1920x1080 to 1600 res is fucking tough on the ego. If anybody's experiencing the same problem, make yourselves heard and if there's anybody out there who managed to fix it help me pl0xplxzgod.

easy trick to fix the res and hz is to change it in the config.wtf file under the WTF folder. You'll find in the file
SET gxResolution "1920x1080"
SET gxRefresh "60"

You can set your res to what you need it to be at and it'll stay, if you change it in-game it'll swap back over to the default res.

I did that already, but whenever I edit the file the map automatically reverses any changes made.
