ok, so i was in UC cause i hs to tarren mill and this level 60 guy runs up to me and trades me 50 gold?
will i get banned for accepting that gold?

Unless that "random" guy was a gold seller i think you'll be fine

The short answer as given above is no, you shouldn't be banned.

Unfortunately, if that 60 obtained the gold illicitly, you might get auto-banned by the system they have in place to identify gold traffickers. It would suck and while you'd likely win your appeal, you'd still be unable to play for a week or more while waiting for them to review your case.

In the future, you should be extremely cautious about accepting gold (through trade or in the mail) from characters you don't know/trust, especially if it's just a random person. Does it seem too good to be true that this random player is giving you a ton of gold? It probably is.

These gold sellers have been getting creative with the ways they advertise. Had a couple time where they would mail me 1 or 2 gold.
