The Mosh'Ogg witch doctors in STV Drop a totem called "Ward of Laze". If memory serves, back in retail vanilla, these totems vanished upon the death of the NPC that dropped them. As you can see in the following, they do not.

If this is working as intended, I'm sorry. But I believe they're supposed to despawn. Multiple totems are up on the map from them not despawning.
