Can only play on 1 IP according to recent post

Hello there.

I play at 3 locations and started playing at the place where I spend the least amount of time. I think making it device and ip locked is rather short sighted and not in the players best interest.

It isn't a simple matter of "Just pick a spot and play".

But rather to not divulge personal information on an open forum i'll leave it at that.

A few workarounds.

Make the website use a google authenticator app on the smartphone for people who want to change locations:

1- Player switches location
2- Player logs into their account on the website
3- Player gets a notification saying "cannot login until you enter the security code on the app
4- Player enters it
5- Location and device are registered for use
6- Player logs into game

Make that pattern repeat every time and you will see a lot less compromised accounts.

I have seen this used on websites before and with some work I'm sure it would prove useful to this game.

If this is how it this may be my only week playing and I wasted a lot of time leveling because I won't be able to log in. I really don't want a different in game account for every single place I play from, it is rather excessive.

Would like to see some more suggestions or clarification.

Greetings,

The country lock locks the IP address to a specific country normally. And you can turn it off if you wish. You can do this by requesting a password reset at https://en.nostalrius.org/password. It will send you an E-mail, and when you click on the link in the E-mail, you will need to update your password and select a new country lock setting.

Regards, GM Team.

Thanks for the fast reply!

I still think for added security you guys could work the google authenticator app into the game somehow, it would just take a little ingenuity. However, it seems I misunderstood the post.

I'm guessing the ip lock is only for logging into the website since thats where the hackers i am guessing log in first.

Thanks again!
