Was I banned? (simple question)

Character name: strreamix
I was banned for 3 days during the first month Nostalrius was opened. Then I came back, got 60, played for a few more months, then quit. When I heard Nost was shutting down, I tried to log in and share the final moments with everyone, but I was told my account information was not correct. (It did not say I was banned).
Is it possible that someone (Pottu)? could let me know if my character was banned for some reason towards the end of the Nost era?

I'm in kind of same position with you. If I remember right I was trying to login few days before shutdown and was told my login info was incorrect (possible, hadn't played for past 3 months). After a few tries I got this message: "This world of warcraft account has been closed and is no longer available for use" so I assume it's automated system blocking you out temporarily to avoid getting bruteforced/hacked. There will be more information about how they handle these cases, but i'm hoping to eventually get closure to my case too.

Certain accounts that had been inactive for several months were locked from entering the game until they requested password resets. This was done after another private server database was leaked on the net and we were targeted by gold sellers stealing inactive accounts en mass. You cannot currently reset your password but you will be able to do so in the future. More information will be announced this weekend.

This is probably what happened in my case I assume. Looking forward to the accouncement and AMA on this weekend.
