[Bug] Training costs for first aid recipes

by byoraf4s » Mon Mar 30, 2015 12:20 pm

Doctor Gustaf VanHowzen <Trauma Surgeon> is charging 10g, 12.5g, and 15g to teach how to make Heavy Mageweave Bandages, Runecloth Bandages, and Heavy Runecloth Bandages. These are supposed to be taught for free after completing the Triage quest:

As pointed out below, the Heavy Silk and Mageweave Bandage skills are learnt from manuals, not trainers.

The Horde Doctor is in Hammerfell in the Arathi Highlands. You need to be lvl 40+, and have First Aid skill at 225.
You may or may not need to get the quest from a normal First Aid trainer to start this quest. My Hunter had to when he did it a couple of months back, but my Rogue didn't need the starter/intro quest.

The Heavy Mageweave, Runecloth & heavy Runecloth skills can be learnt for free (yes, free) from the Trauma Doctor, you just have to talk to him and have the appropriate skill.

The date: 22nd of July, 2005 ought to make it a 1.6 patch... so whether or not you could get the recipes for free prior to 1.6 I have no idea. Sure it's not an official word, but I see no reason to doubt what was written, albeit the level requirement mentioned is a bit... off, which could or could not be a result of said person only going there after being 40+ as it is mentioned on other places in the thread that they're learned for free.

Well then, let's bump it with more sources claiming it being free... from 2004/5.

Hope this helps someone.

At 150 and level 40 you go to Ogrimmar and talk to the First Aid guy, he'll give you a quest to go to Hammerfall in Arathi Highlands and talk to the Surgeon, he'll give you a quest to heal the heal all the nearly dead people infront of you, when you completed that and talked to the Surgeon again he'll give you First Aid up to 300. When you hit 240, he'll give you Heavy Mageweaver Bandages for free. Currently I'm on 242, so I don't know about Runecloth Bandages for free from the same guy, it seems as though that might be correct. Do you get Heavy Runecloth at 275 or 280? Or does normal Runecloth last till 300.

So it seems to apply to Heavy mageweave bandage at least. Anything stating the opposite would be good to read.
