Graphics vs HWCursor openGl Issue - Linux

I am having a "choose this or choose that" type of issue on Linux.
In-game my screen is divided into 4 quadrants that seem to have different video settings. Doesn't affect gameplay, just annoying.
It looks like this:

I can fix the graphics issue by inserting "SET gxApi openGL" into my config file, but that brings up a new problem. With openGL, my mouse becomes unresponsive in-game. The "Hardware Cursor" option is greyed out.
I can reverse this issue by removing openGL: The graphics bug comes back and I can then enable "Hardware Cursor" again.
This issue does not occur on retail WoW.
Any ideas?
Cheers
