Hauntir: Ban Appeal

Account name is: vhunter
Banned: Wed Apr 15
I had logged on for no more than 5 minutes when I was disconnected / banned. Ran from the inn in Feralas, through the humanoids NW to the beasts NW. killed 4-5 wolves / bears before I was disconnected from the server then banned.
In those few minutes that I was killing mobs, there was no contact from any players (aside from an ally rogue whos name I forget that ran by) let alone a GM to let me know why or what was going to happen.
I'm not too sure how or why a GM would think I was botting from the time I logged in to the 4-5 mobs I killed (for a total of <5 min) without trying to make some form of contact with me. All I was trying to do was grind out some skins / meger xp for mount money.
I would appreciate a GM taking a look at and rectifying my account. Thank you.

Bump.
I was told by Metzu to make a new thread for the ban appeal?

A GM already stated in the other thread that your botting was confirmed. Probably it was a just a coincidence that the ban hammer was swung when you were online. You probably botted in a prior session and they just now got to you and banned you.
Dont bot at all.
They wont ever contact you. Botting will lead to instant account closure, no carebear warnings like in retail Blizz wow where they always have a look at the money income therefore they dont like to ban fast and loose $ub$

AFAIK when they see someone acting bot-like, the Nost GMs will send some tells to test to see if it's really a bot or just a player grinding very methodically. Ignored tells will lead them to conclude it's a bot and premaban the account.

Not true. I play with a gamepad and they banned me thinking I was a bot. No messages sent, nothing, just killed ported to gm island and banned. They ban on a whim here with next to no proof.

Greetings,
Your account has been closed for use of botting. I have yet to see a successful appeal when an account has been closed for this reason.
Regards,
GM Aerbax

I guess so, seems this is one of those servers that takes the stance of we're never wrong. If you're unlucky enough to get banned, you're sol.
From what the other gm said, I was at least hopeful this would be looked into.

Nostalrius doesn't actually listen to appeals, you're guilty until proven guilty here. Even though there has been a revolving door of staff who clearly cannot adequately perform the job yet when players can offers a real world explanation for why the staff may have made a mistake (hey it happens to us all) they won't listen. It's just unfortunate that while the staff are banning actual botters/hackers/cheaters they also catch innocent players.
