Just finished a Wailing Caverns run earlier tonight and went to start the escort quest with the druid at the beginning. As soon as I clicked though on beginning the event, he gave his little speech about keeping him safe, and then phased out of the world. None of my party-mates could see him, we tried exiting and entering the instance, but he was still gone.

Looks like he peaced out. On a serious note, for future refference regarding bugs use bugtracker and not forums.
