Log-in Queue

I seem to recall from my vanilla retail days that if too many people were attempting to log into the server that they would place you in a queue. There would then be a message in the UI stating what your place in line was and the estimated wait time to connect.

Please implement a similar service.

There isn't a queue for the login server though. This is overload, something Blizzard has always struggled with.

I'll admit my memory is a bit rusty on the exact workings of this service. So you're saying that you would only be placed in a queue after you had successfully connected but then were attempting to log into a specific character?

The congestion seemed to be on the auth server (where you actually login with username and password). The queuing is and always has been on a realm by realm basis. Which you choose of course after you've authenticated with the auth server.
Casual and proud.
