As I'm sure you've no doubt noticed, Nostalrius is growing large and doing so rapidly. This is great as it gives us plenty of other people to play and share experiences with but it has one glaring drawback that I'm certain everyone is noticing.
Quest-related respawn rates.
In short, they're abysmal and frustrating to no end.
In retail vanilla it was fine enough because the competition wasn't that fierce, here if you don't get to be first to an object you may find yourself waiting up to a half hour or longer for what should have taken three minutes as droves of players all needing the same thing pile in. This is not something that can be remedied with cooperation, there are simply too few monsters and interactive quest objects to accommodate this kind of volume.

My suggestion is simple, tweak the timers to be a little faster on quest-related objects.
I'm not asking that the monster spawn be turned up to 11, but certainly the items such as the Sea Turtle Remains in Darkshore or the four quest objectives all on 5 minute timers for Bingle's Missing Supplies. Just yesterday I saw seven people all gathered around the same spawn point waiting for the item to come back, some had been there for half an hour just waiting for the spawn only to have someone else get it before them and having to wait yet another 5 minutes, et cetera ad nauseam. I am alliance so I can only speak to that effect but I am positive that the horde experience similar problems, I'm consistently hearing talk about how difficult and competitive the UD starting zone can be for most people in particular.

Honestly I have to agree with this suggestion, I remember spending at least 30 minutes if not more in the Tirisfal Glades trying to find enough doom weed to complete a quest. The respawn times coupled with the high amount of people trying to also get doom weed made it a huge hassle to complete.

Please up the respawn times to keep up with the increasingly growing server population, these were quests meant to be done with much lower server pops. Now that we broke 8k though it's not enough.

Exactly! Nothing should be changed because it wouldn't be blizzlike. Who cares that the population isn't blizzlike either, that's irrelevant!

So the only thing to do is to 'man up', or 'suck it up', because for the modern human playing on Nostalrius, this is their test of manhood.

I have a suggesting that If you were to turn some quest supply gathering such as Bingles items into a merchant loot window of 1 copper it would make it a bit easier and to allow people to advance not faster just smarter toward the end level of where vanilla wow real test of manhood lies.

I wanted to add that while it may not have existed in this specific patch a dynamic spawning system did indeed exist in classic/vanilla WoW to compensate for realm populations. I understand that due to technical limitations of the MangOS Zero core this would not be a feasible solution, but I feel that a proper compromise would be to adjust the timers somewhere to the tune of a 20% reduction in the overall wait time. e.g. 5 minute timer becomes 4 minutes, 15min timer becomes 12min, 3hr rare spawns would still be around 2.5 hours.

I am not just saying this as a disgruntled player, I have admin'd and moderated servers before (never at this kind of scale, mind you) and I sincerely believe it would have a positive impact without straying very far from being blizzlike at all.
