I've been playing this server since release on multiple chars, On the avatar I'm posting as I'm currently a midlevel UD mage.
And I've seen hundreds of people asking for a second server. Which is what alot of people want and alot dont.
I think there should be, Now don't bite my head off I've been thinking how this could be achieved without dividing the population to a point where it becomes dead.
Right so here goes.
The other day I was online when nost hit 9k players. yes the server was running fine, tiny bit of latency but dealable with. Questing however was impossible as to be expected with 9k people in a world.
Considering there are about 45 zones in vanilla wow that's roughly 200 people per zone. but we all know thats not accurate. there will have been people in cities and bg's some raids and instances. yet it was impossible to quest... This poses quite a problem the map isn't big enough for the population. with its current concentration anyway.
So I was coming up with a way of TRYING to aliviate some of this problem and I came up with this
2 servers. 1 PvP enabled one. and the 2nd a Normal realm.
But this splits the population and people would have to level again.
What if the nost guys find a way of having a char on both servers. Like a kind of Raid type array.
Same char. 2 Servers. Same So for example
Billy is a 60 paladin. Server 1 is getting a bit cramped so he logs to server 2 where he still has his paladin. he runs an instance and gets the valor shoulders ( because blow me. you he's leeroy
)then when he logs back onto server 1 he has the shoulders too. because the Database supports both servers
Would that not fix the problems we face. Due to the fact there wouldn't be any real loss to the playerbase because they can simply log onto whichever realm they feel to play the same character.
Look I know this may not entirely be possible. but it seems that it could be right. I'm not crazy
Ps. Look this is my first post and I'm just trying to help. if this is possible it would be great. but please don't flame me calling me an idiot. it's just an idea.
