My idea (which i've written in another thread) is that you first of all need to find out how many of the 9-10 000 players currently playing are willing to play on a PvE server. Because if only 1000 people want to play on a PvE server we wouldnt exactly fix the problem by providing a server with that option. If 3 - 4000 players are wanting to play on a PvE server, then i agree it would be a good solution.
So, in case the first thing happends, i think the only solution would be to make a second PvP server in order to split the population 50/50. But as i stated in a previous thread, by doing this you have to make sure that you dont make the one server much more populare than the other. Lets say they make a 4-5000 cap on the "new" PvP server, and all the top players from all the top guilds (both PvP and PvE) transfers over to the "new" server. What then? Then we would have created a situation were most of those on the original server are really wanting to play where all the top guilds/players are. Thats not good either, and not only because it would suck to be on the server which lacks all the top players, but we would also have a server which would have tons of experience, and a server which would maybe lack the experience. Remember there is alot of people that didnt raid in vanilla and would benefit alot of people with legit experience.
So, if they do a 50/50 split with two PvP servers, i really hope that it would be an even split regarding top guilds and experienced players aswell. This might prevent one server being miles ahead in popularity
