Can't put totems while silenced

As far as i remember when i played retail i could put totem even when i got silence, but i can't do it at Nostalrius.
According to patch notes:
Patch 5.1.0 (27-Nov-2012): All totems are now considered spells, and summoning totems can be prevented by silencing effects.
So i suppose you should fix it.

As far as i remember when i played retail i could put totem even when i got silence, but i can't do it at Nostalrius.

So i suppose you should fix it.

But the patch they changed it is from patch 5.1. U know that we play on patch 1.12.1

He does raise a good point, I have no clue as to how it worked in Vanilla since I played Alliance. But there are a ton of sources that suggest that summoning a totem earlier than Mist of Pandaria wasn't considered a spell, therefore couldn't be silenced.

Well i didnt play on vanilla retail coz i started from WotLK. But at that time i'm absolutely sure that i could put grounding, tremor totems etc. while silenced.
So then I read all of the patch changes according totems and i saw that only in Pandas putting totems became countered by silence.
