Please encurage to not gank lowies all the time

As part of a PvP server it is common and expected that from time to time you get ganked by a higher level player. That's fine and part of the experience, however if someone 30 levels higher follows you through the entire zone just so he can send you back to the graveyard which happens to be very far away, this has nothing to do with PvP, that's harassment. As this happens with increasing frequency on Nostalrous, I think this should be counter-acted, while its not yet a huge issue, so that it doesn't become one.

There are many ways to deal with that, but the best way would be to encourage people to not farm-gank other player's that have no way to realistically defend themselves automatically. During vanilla there was a time where grey kills would reward a dishonorable kill, but that didn't really work out well for several reasons, mostly because the impact was too strong, however the general idea wasn't that bad.

I would suggest to add a feature that gives you a negative kill if you kill someone much lower level. Basically if that player would have awarded a kill and 20 honor, you instead loose a kill from the counter and loose 20 honor.
Since this would only apply to kills that grant a very low amount of honor, the impact would be negligible to those who randomly gank someone, and only affect those, who repeatedly farm lower level players.

Totaly agree with you! Blizzard even warned them if u were camped a longer period of time and eventually banned them.

My anecdotal evidence is that hardcore-zone closing-ganking is not increasing, but dramatically decreasing. I'm working on my second toon and it's not near as bad as it was when the server opened.

Regardless, some guilds will actively encourage it, some won't, and some just don't care one way or the other.

My suggestion which is totally not blizzlike but I'd love: Players should not be able to attack gray leveled enemies. + all zones with no exception are contested OR lvl 60 players are permanently flagged for pvp
Was good to have you all

I don't think that any idea that is too far away from vanilla is going to be accepted by the community. That is why my suggestion is more a psychological effect than a real punishment, that you can basically ignore if you really want to.

Adding this would only flood GMs with whine tickets and eventually the server would become so carebear that you couldn't even kill someone without the fear of being reported and banned.
You know what blizz staff told me when I made a ticket like this back in my youth playing tbc retail? "Take a few hour break and I'm sure he will be gone by then".

I am not sure why this would lead to tickets and bans? With that system in place, if you want to gank a lowbie, you can go and gank a lowbie. You get -10 honor or something as "punishment", end of story.

Also the Blizzard response isn't really helpful. Aside from the fact that I don't feel like taking an hour break, the guy that ganked you will be gone, but someone else will be ganking you in his place. And if one thing was for sure in Vanilla, then that Blizzard didn't understood PvP even the slightest.

God....

Why can't you understand what a PLAYER vs PLAYER realm is? It is a realm where players can kill players for absolutely no reason and the only thing that can happen to them is feeling bad for doing so.
Countless people made these whine threads and nothing changed. I remember when there was a 60 priest killing everyone in westfall. A GM said "Congrats, you're the first person I've ever seen with this many reports. Have a nice day" and moved on as it is not an offense, nowhere in the ToU does it say it's not allowed and it will never be changed.
If you played a PvE realm in retail, doesn't mean a PvP realm here needs to listen to your wishes and make changes to the ToU.
P.S. in vanilla, you didn't get -honor for killing lowbies. Only for killing npcs.

As you can see in my initial post I am not whining about ganking, I in fact even write that this is a part of the experience. However excessive ganking of lower level players is not PvP, that's harassment. If a 60 kills everyone at a quest-hub for hours (Nersingway anyone?), it effectively prevents many people from playing the game and one-shotting ppl has nothing to do with PvP.

Constant ganking of new players causes the victims to quit the game for good eventually, and if you can't find a tank for your run, because he was ganked repeatedly 50 levels ago and rage-quitted, that diminishes the experience for all players on the long run.

So:
High levels ganking low levels every now and then -> perfectly ok.
High levels keeping low levels from playing the game solely because they want to keep them from playing -> not ok.
