dungeon finder

i am suggesting a dungeon finder, for new users, i know the server is relatively new, so a dungeon finder is not needed because of the huge player base. It is relatively easy to get a group to do a dungeon because of the mass amount of fresh players, but a few months or even a year from now, the player base is going to be a majority of level 60s, who log on to do raids, and might be leveling an alt, but chances are, won't be leveling an alt because it takes a really long time to level a toon, so the player base is going to shrink from thousands to hundreds. Nevermind the massive amount of farming that is going to be needed to be done at 60, for professions, ie flasks and food, which floods leveling areas with world pvp and ganking low levels because farming in general is pretty boring.

i know the original intent for creating a morpg, but i won't get into that, because i know for the most part it is opinionated, but adding a dungeon finder, in my opinion, would only make sense because of the huge amount of different time zones we will have to contend with to do end game content without feeling the frustration of having to log on at a certain time to have a small percent of a chance to get a small percent of a chance to get an item. But like i said, this idea would be months down the road.

I don't get it. What is stopping you from finding a group yourself?

It should be in vanilla anyway. You can sign up at any inn and get matched with a group. No interface, no role control, just getting paired with people randomly who are also looking for the same dungeon.

While "technically" possible.. It could never be something like how bliz implemented it. You wouldn't have any in-game gui's because the interfaces simply don't exist in the vanilla client. You can't add them because the developers can't make any changes to the client itself because they don't have access to the sources..

It could be "hacked" in by using a custom npc that you'd have to visit and talk to, and navigate a text menu, like with like the pvp system but there would be no accept/enter boxes to click.. (unless they used the pvp one) you'd have to just suddenly be teleported without warning.

It would be very crude and "non-vanilla" but technically possible.

Yep, this should be in the game.
At least the cool RP gossip options.
Patch 1.5 wrote:Innkeepers around the world now have a gossip option that lets you join a meeting stone directly from the innkeeper rather than going to the location of the meeting stone. Also these Innkeepers will now have background lore about each of the dungeons.

No thanks. One of the reasons I'm playing on this server / vanilla realms is because there are no dungeon finders, raid finders, queue bgs from everywhere, flying mounts etc.

Hmm if it would work like this then I'm not gonna argue against it. As long as people actually have to travel to the said dungeon, and not get ported there.
Not everyone would download and install this addon though.

Can you delve more about this? What was this in vanilla? Why did they stop using it?
