A step in the right direction. Don't worry roofkillers, there are plenty of other stuff you can masturbate to. It's not that hard.

Or they could simply place 1-2 guards on the roof who would club them to death.

If somebody ganked you on Retail, would you report it to the GMs? and guess what, if you did report it to the GMs they wouldn't answer you, they would dismiss the ticket.

If you want to get technical, that's only a part of WoW on the PvP servers, not quite so much on the Normal servers.

While the idea of forbidding roof camping may be sad, your suggestion is totally out of place, bro.

If this isn't related to using AoE Blizzard through roofs (which shouldn't be possible), and actually just about ganking from rooftops, then nosey GMs should be dealt with.

Evidence of epic battles can be found throughout the lands of Azeroth, but never before has the possibility of all-out war loomed so close. Times such as these turn cowards into stalwart heroes and virtuous men into cruel villains. Well constructed facades will fall away, revealing the true natures of men, hidden for so long under the guise of social decorum. This is the stage upon which you will play out your adventures if you are up to the challenge.

The Player versus Player (PvP) servers are specifically designed to allow open combat between members of the Horde and the Alliance factions. As such, players on these servers have a greater ability to resolve cross-faction disputes on their own. By choosing to play on a PvP server, you have chosen to move the game difficulty slider from "Easy" to "Hard." While this makes attaining any goal all the more satisfying, expect the road to said goal to be paved with sorrow. Our goal as an in-game support staff is to take as much of a hands-off approach in resolving cross-faction player disputes as possible. If this does not sound like an appealing gameplay experience, it is strongly recommended that you select a Player versus Environment (PvE) server instead. Although there will still be opportunities to occasionally test your PvP mettle on PvE servers, it is in a much more structured environment and you can more or less choose when you wish to participate in PvP combat.

The following guidelines are exceptions to the policies applicable to all servers. These rules will attempt to encompass the majority of situations that arise in PvP combat between opposing members of the Horde and Alliance factions on the PvP servers. Rules for members of the same faction (Horde vs. Horde or Alliance vs. Alliance) remain the same, as there are no PvP resolutions available to these players. However, these guidelines are not exhaustive by any means and there are sure to be situations that are not covered here. Based on this fact, we reserve the right to evaluate each incident on a case by case basis and take action appropriate to the spirit of the law.

Lucky this is a PVP server then, eh?

Meanwhile night elves can still stand in a corner of the gadgetzan Inn, casting spells without being killed by guards.

agree with this 100% ^^

but OP did you get warned for safespotting? im a bit confused

I agree - the ToU is the constitution of Nostalrius. GM's should always remain within the confines if this pre-defined rule set. If the ToU turns out to be inadequate then the ToU has to be adapted by those who are entitled to adapt it. Only then can GM's act in a new way.

Otherwise one promotes arbitrariness and power abuse which will create an unhealthy atmosphere on the server.

But it seems OP was indeed violating the ToU?

I had not used blizzard once on that roof because at the time I was aware that exploiting it was bannable. I was not, however, aware using frostbolt, fireblast, and cone of cold from the roof was bannable.

Pretty sure in vanilla, shortly after I started, Blizzard banned rooftop pvp also. I never heard of it being enforced but at the time I was a level 15 hunter with dreams of some day raining hellfire down from the rooftops and was really saddened by this. It was a server MotD IIRC
