Yeah in the end, they overhyped this server so much, they're gonna suffer from the overpopularity.
This is a signature until I can bypass that damned 502 ERROR when I put an IMG tag in my sig and try to submit it.

Insignia is completely on point. Something needs to be done about the overpopulation before Nostalrius crumbles and fails. If the aim of this server is to be truly Blizzlike, then they shouldn't be allowing such severe overcrowding on the server, as this would never happen on a Blizzard realm.

I think the most immediate and do-able solution to this is to simply cap the server's population. 4k, maybe 5k at most. Yes, this will lead to some long queues during peak hours, but you take the bad with the good I guess. This is a free server, after all, and it's not like we didn't have to deal with queues back on BlizzWoW. To me, this seems like the best solution until a second server can be launched.

EDIT: Max population during Classic was 2.5k, if I recall correctly? Currently, Nostalrius is under a super heavy load with many thousands of players, peaking at just over 9k. Completely and totally un-Blizzlike. The overcrowding is not only a heavy burden on the server, but also on the dynamics of the game itself. This needs to be addressed, especially if we want a Blizzlike 1.12 experience.

Without crossrealm BGs a second server sucks.
And if you have a look how long it took Molten to get that feature (announced years ago and not yet in place) I don't see a benefit of a second server.

Classic didnt have Cross realm BGs either and it worked out. Why shoudnt it work out here with a population more then big enough for at least 2 servers.

Your reply gets thrown out right here. Assumptions are not facts.

This. Although I disagree with splitting the population, I would like to see cross-realm PvP be implemented. Same realm type as Nostalrius Begins so the PvE crybabies/bads are still pushed away as much as possible.

In terms of servers, Normal (PvE) servers outnumbered PvP servers. I'm not sure what criteria you're using for "successful" guilds, but I know several guilds cleared all Vanilla content on PvE realms. Your definition of "successful" may include "first to clear", but mine doesn't. I also don't see how having to be PvP flagged 24/7 makes a guild more successful. You, sir, seem to be lacking critical game knowledge and logic.

There, you already lost your own arguement.
The most successful guilds are the most famous ones in which fame roots from world's firsts = The most hardcore.

Please try again later, better luck next time.

Vanilla HAD A CROSSREALM BGs. Read this 1.12.0 patchnote.

Wow, you consider successful guilds to be "famous ones"? I couldn't name you ONE guild from Vanilla WoW that was "famous". They're just gamers, not celebrities, and they're certainly not worthy of praise for winning a game. That's like saying, "Hooray! Tommy won at Monopoly!" That's great if Tommy is 8 years old. If he's in his 20's... he needs to get out more.

Personally, a "successful" guild is one where people become friends outside the game and have fun clearing content at whatever pace they decide is best for them. Guilds that rush-rush-rush to complete content are the ones who sit for weeks/months waiting for a new patch, bored and with nothing to do. I feel kinda sorry for them.

So I didn't lose, and neither did you. We have differing opinions of what constitutes "success". And I doubt we're going to see eye-to-eye or change each other's minds. :D
