This isn't Wotlk. And if anything, the current respec system isn't doing enough. I'm already seeing an inflated economy since launch. The best thing about playing on a new server was the virgin prespoiled economy. In less than 6 months, it'd be ruined by all the botters, gold sellers, and just plain rich raiders. We're actually behind schedule due to Nost's effort to ban bots and sellers.(SORRY ASSHOLES, now GTFO) But even with a perfectly legitimate system, the problem will still occur. Blizzard never solved this problem. The sinks they put in were only ever enough to delay the inevitable. They needed to do MORE, but in later years, they did LESS, hence why the economy got worse and worse. If you complain about the respec cost in Classic, then you come off as a child that doesn't understand why something such as why printing money=bad, and you probably have no idea why gold is completely worthless in retail now(and has been since Wrath, really).
We actually need more gold sinks to ensure a stable economy, but this would mean doing things Blizzard never did with the game, which they won't do... so enjoy it while it lasts. It's only a matter of time before everyone has tons of gold sitting around, and can respec every single day without a second thought. Then they go to the auction and spend 100g on Copper Bars for their new alt.
