I am for any options that takes the moderation of /world and /global out of player's hands, be that deletion, no moderation, etc.

The entire problem is I can do this without fear of any punishment since /world is the players private channel and up to them to moderate. Think of it as the spam to end all spam. Fighting fire with fire.

I see this upsets you, please vote and help to try and prevent this from occurring in the future. Only 350 more needed for 1k now. Spread the word.

Whats next? Moderate /WorldEN, /Global, ...

Once they do something players ask, custom changes start coming... Summon Stones? Limited 10g Talent Reset? ... If you want a Kronos server... Please don't ruine this one.

I don't remember global chat channels ever being much in style in retail Vanilla. LFG was zone restricted, not global.

Trashcan em' all. With the server population this big they aren't necessary.

This.

Any server with more than 2k population should not have a world chan. There is no need for it, and the game is so much more imersive without it.

Don't forget moderating a chan takes ressources (in time) from the Staff. Let the staff work on debug and true problems.

/world isn't even an official channel. The use of /world is entirely voluntary. Moderation of /world is pointless for this reason. If you don't like /world, don't use it. I know I don't. trade chat, lfg channels, and general channels in appropriate level zones are fine ways to find members for groups. The server has 2-3 times that of a vanilla server back when this was retail, finding groups isn't that hard guys...

/world over 10 years has become the default by practice.

Most players use /world, PERIOD, END OF STORY. You cannot undo 10 years of practice. It's practically a 'culture custom' to use /world over the other channels. Telling people to just "use something else" is as culturally ignorant of the habits and common actions of WoW players as you can get. They aren't going to just not use /world because you say so with a bad attitude... I mean, what, why?

The WoW playerbase is like a herd of cats. You can move them and they will go wherever the please regardless of what you wish. All attempts are in vain.

Your point is moot.

I didn't realize that GM's and server side spam timers were Developers. TIL. /s

You can try and stop speaking for Nostalrius and what they are willing and able to do. We're trying to get a response from them here, not from YOU.

Seriously? If you asked players opinion about what we think staff should do with world chat, please don't get mad when, as players, we answer.

And yes,
-GMs do help developers. Do you even realized how the current bug report system work? Bugs are reported through in game tickets, and sorted by GMs. Please read FAQ or topics about bug reporting. It was explained by the staff.
-GMs have other duties than moderating a fracking word chan (and than helping devs). They help players facing a bug, harassment, cheater, etc...

You don't share that opinion, ok, I got no problem with that. But again, if you can't handle other opinions than yours, don't launch polls and don't go on forums at all.
