Can you delve more about this? What was this in vanilla? Why did they stop using it?

Until 2.0, you could use Meeting Stones to "sign in" to a Dungeon and be grouped with random other people that were signed for the same dungeon. It was almost useless.

After 1.5, this sign-in feature was also offered by inkeepers.

A harsh, yet fair assessment. I compeltely agree. Dungeon finder is one of the reasons WoW retail is shit. It takes the social aspect away from building a group, and it makes it harder for you to tailor your group after preference/need of the group.

This should ABSOLUTELY NOT be implemented, it would spell dissaster.

The issues that eventually lead to the dungeon finder were definitely something Blizzard was struggling with even back in vanilla. Server's just too small for group content. They addressed this by first merging a couple low population realms, then later added the feature to transfer characters if you weren't happy on the dead server you were stuck on.

Neither of these are reasonable solutions for private servers, so I don't think RDF should be out of the question for low population servers. But not here, not now.

Dungeon finder ruined social aspect of official WoW since WotLK.
Instead to make friends and do dungeon with them we just queue for dungeon with total strangers where often many inmature argues and ninjas things happen.
With so high population I really can't see reason for any utility to "connect strangers for that dungeon run".
Blizzard made LFD cause flood of lazy casual ppl started to play WoW, same kind of ppl who usually says "summon me, ress me"....

If it were in this form, it would not be as bad as the LFG tool on retail, because you still get to pick who you want out of all the people looking. It just means you dont need to be constantly watching /1 /2/ /3 /4 /5 channels for people lfg or lfm.

Will this addon work on Nostalrius as is? (I understand only people with the addon can see / use it)
