I would totally level up 2 characters at once if I could, just to get the alt leveling out of the way at the start. but I'm sure the initial release will be a race to 60 and world pvp in every zone possible that's contested. (STV cluster **** anyone?) :D

I know it wouldn't change anything at the end of the day, as everyone is able to make infinite accounts anyway, but still, if you were to disallow making characters of different factions on one account, it would make the cross-faction communication a bit harder. I mean, when you get ganked by a rogue and get mad as hell, do you go into the trouble of logging/making a separate account and making/logging a lvl 1 just for the sake of saying rude things to him? If so, you might have a problem. But if you can have same lvl 1 on your main acc, it all gets a whole lot easier. I'm still convinced that the only way to get rid of the cross-faction faggotry is to disallow people from creating more than one account or logging more than one account from one IP (would also solve multiboxing problems as well), but guess that'll never be done. A shame, I say.

The thing is one account per IP is impossible to enforce properly from what I have heard, as you can change your IP very easily.

And if you got a way to prevent a single person to create more than one account, well please share with us, cause I don't see any reliable way to do so :/.

I kinda agree with you regarding the "at least make it harder / more tedious" though, even if it's not gonna change things a lot, every little helps :)

To my knowledge, it's impossible to have 2 different IP's at the same time, maybe unless your home has 2 different internet connections. I really doubt anyone would go to such lengths so he could play two characters at the same time. And if one had to not only relog, but to change his IP just to log his char on other faction, that would severely limit the amount of people willing to do that just to scout for enemy players using /who or trashtalk gankers. The harder the cross-faction communication becomes, the better it will be for the server, the closer will we get to the true, vanilla-style faction-hate. Nostalrius is literally the first server to bring the proper old item stats, why should it not be the first server to put the end to factionwhoring as well?

It takes 5 seconds to route your second instance of WoW through a different IP address on your laptop.

Pointless topic, people will be making secondary accounts with opposite factions on them for a number of different reasons, chief one being so that they can have two people logged on at once and not have to log out their main.

Good suggestion, in retail possess multiple accounts cost lots of muney. Here it's free. So to be honest, it shouldn't be normal to play, use (for banking, ganking, etc) more than one account during small period of time.

But once again, ppl can evoid it with VPN or proxies. Shame...

Not allowing more than one logging from each IP would create problems if you're two in the same household playing together from the same IP. Allowing two or three accounts from same IP, you're back at where you started. Maybe it would be better to allow one account per computer connected to the server, if that is possible to control.

Another problem with this cross faction thing is that some people want to play both factions. In retail I had both alliance and horde characters, on different realms. Here we got one realm, so you're kinda forced to play on the same realm with both factions.
