And what PvE server are you talking about?

I've noticed that when PvP stuff is involved, the community most devoted to it can be highly toxic because it suddenly turns into some competition that they have to win.

and here is where the loser millennial is shown

your shitty "everybody has to be a winner" mentality is utterly retarded and I can't wait for this supposed PvE server to crop up so you PvE shitters can jsut go there and never come back

oh wait you won't you've vested too much time and effort on THIS server to jump ship

Millenial? I kinda doubt that, been playing NES games since 1989 before I was even 6 years old. You on the other hand, are coming off as some hyper-elitist little shit-faced Call of Duty player who's trying so hard to come off as a bad ass on a forum. Take it from someone who's likely older and wiser than you: stop being so damn angry at everything, the stress is going to do some nasty numbers on your body that you won't want to deal with. You have this huge love of jumping to conclusions and calling damn near everyone a 'shitter' as you like to say.

I never once said everyone should win all the time. I wouldn't be such a fan of Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne if I believed victory should be handed in on a silver platter.

Don't go telling me Vanilla WoW is hard either, it's all a matter of perspective and experiences. Vanilla WoW is hard, but not to someone who played Everquest back in the day. Fantastic, you just died, hope you bound your soul to the area and not from a few zones back or it's gonna be a long walk back to your corpse... naked with no gear, and your corpse is surrounded by what killed you. Die in a dungeon along with the rest of your group/raid? Get back there and get your stuff, same as always. Better be quick about it, your corpse decays after a week and everything on it vanishes. Gear wasn't restricted by levels, just races and classes, so you could twink your character out with some high end gear. It wasn't level restricted due to death being very common and de-leveling was a very real thing. There was a PvP server, Rallos Zek I believe, it was dubbed the 'No Rules' server.

I grew up on Warcraft II and it's expansion pack, Diablo 1, and Starcraft as well as Brood Wars. Hell, I still have working CDs of Starcraft and it's expansion pack.

Your insults are insulting to me because of how awful they are. If you're going to try and go after someone by insulting them, at least put some effort into it, try and really get under their skin.

Given how much dedication you have to be to get into and stay in a raiding guild in a Vanilla WoW server, the insult of carebear has lost a lot of it's impact over time. Hardcore raiders can be far more hardcore and dedicated than PvPers, especially if they are focused heavily on advancement.

If you actually believe opening a second server is a good idea, let me remind you of what happened early 2005 when Blizzard released new servers:

Players initially flocked to them to enjoy the release of a new server, hit level 20-30, and went back to their original server. These servers were dead as fuck, in both population, and in progression. It wasn't terribly uncommon to see one of the "new" servers without a single guild fully clearing AQ by the time BC dropped. Many of the players on these servers begged constantly to be merged with the other backwater "new releases", because it's not fun playing a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game, with 300 other people across two factions, ~60 levels, and over 50 zones.

I was on one of those new servers when stuff like that happened, and then I found another reason to hate brand new servers where people were at most, level 15 or so: The event that had the massive demon and his dogs moving around locations like Brill, Bloodhoof Village, etc and just destroying anyone who ventured outside the safety of an inn.

I petitioned a GM about how the event should be halted on the brand new servers because no one was high enough level to handle it, and I got a canned response of how the servers would grow in time, etc etc not really noticing or caring how that wasn't gonna happen with a big demon one-shotting people.

people here can make all the suggestions they want it ain't gonna happen you are less than 5% of the playerbase making demands for the other 95%

Ah, the cry of the ganker who's afraid of losing the ability to harass other players. How quaint.

Less than 5% of the playerbase wants PvE, huh? Well, 97.3% of statistics you see on forums are made up.

god your dumb
nobody is afraid of what you said, were all just laughing at you people crying for a pve server.
your a vocal minority, its not going to happen, this thread is a joke.

Since you're always feeling so superior to others, maybe you could learn from this nice picture I went out of my way to find for you ;-)

If you're gonna insult others on their intelligence, should do so without making primary school errors.

And don't pull the "I'm not a native english speaker", nor am I.

Anyway, on topic:

I wouldn't mind a new pve server, not only to avoid those asshats ganking people 20 levels below them, but mostly not to have to wait 10 minutes to complete one quest waiting for mobs to respawn (and having a shot at looting their quest items) when you are 20 people camping there.

Yeah, yeah, I know, change zones, go grind mobs, etc.

Thing is, the more people on the server, the higher the workload, you could already feel the delay on casting spells, target not in range, etc, they had to reduce the view distance A LOT to make up for it.

But that doesn't compensate for the fact that being 50 people in every zone to quest is quite a pain.

I don't think I've ever seen this on retail. There weren't 7.5K players on one given server IIRC.
This is a signature until I can bypass that damned 502 ERROR when I put an IMG tag in my sig and try to submit it.

I think they should definitely consider making a 2nd server, whether PvE or PvP, simply due to the crazy population.
I like the feel of PvP servers but am open to the PvE idea as I know a lot of people would rather have the option instead of being forced. I have fond memories of being hunted by higher lvl horde in Lakeshire back in the day. Granted, nobody likes an idiot that is 30 lvls higher camping them non-stop for hours...that's lame. But it was a cool aspect of the game to suddenly be in a dangerous situation like that.

PvE shitters continue to entertain me, you forum warriors represent less than 5% of the population and you only speak for yourself

there will NEVER EVER be a PvE server, continue to kick and scream though

I like the idea, but I mainly want a lower ping option for regions other than where the current server is hosted

...Edited did you expect anyone to read this wall of text you angrily wrote?

I have to agree with Durandal, this shit is amusing, watching people "make suggestions" till they're blue in the face while still insisting they AREN'T children for trying to get something they never can have

you truly are the definition of a millennial

Such a bad idea. I don't think you realise what a 2nd server involves for Nost staff.

What about we just stick to have one server with a decent amount of working quests/dungeons/raids/mechanics, bugs getting fixed slowly but surely, active pve and pvp going on 24/7d ?

Also if you want the pve carebear atmosphere, why not idle in IF/Og until raids like most players ? Or just go lvl through dungeons/grinding instead of trying to compete on ninja tagging mobs for a quest ?

This idea is like 3 years ahead for a project that has just started and an insane workload in front of him regarding bugs fixes and content release. 2nd server already ? Complete bullshit imo.
