"There has been some confusion in regards to whether or not the act of "rooftop camping", or killing players while using geometry to avoid the town guards, is allowed. We will no longer condone this act in game. Players who participate in this method of PvP will be given a warning and educated on this new policy, and further action will be taken as circumstances warrant. We wish to provide a fair playing field to our customers, and this abuse of game mechanics has been hampering that effort."

Even Blizzard considered this an exploit. A minority of players experienced the "fun" of this exploit before it became a problem but it hampers the enjoyment of others. If you want to PvP, do it outside of towns instead of being a cancerous shitbag.

it's not really an exploit or a glitch

an exploit is a flaw in the programming that allows you to do something that normally you can't, the difference between a glitch and an exploit is an exploit is usually ALWAYS meant to benefit the player in some way in a rather absurdly beneficial way

a glitch is a small hiccup in the coding that causes problems, sometimes harmful sometimes helpful, glitches tend to be usually benign in origin and don't really hamper anything

the roof in gadgetzan isn't a exploit or glitch, while it's an unintended area to get to it's reachable simply because of objects placed around the BSP

frankly this crock of shit is possibly going to lead to a slipper slope,

When the official game's devs come out and call it an exploit like that, then you should probably trust their judgement in it being an exploit.

In my mind, if you have to use exploits in order to get kills, that makes you the casual because you just can't handle a PvPer who's able to fight back. So if you're the type who camps rooftops, I guess you fit that definition, yes?

Your opinions earlier are just as pointless, we may as well scream as much as we want, in the end, all the matters is what the devs decide.

Don't abuse safespotting. Simple as that.
Blizzard never intended for people to be safe from guards while still in the range of those guards, that's why they FIXED IT ON RETAIL FOREVER AGO.

If you can't handle the fact that a vanilla server needs to implement a rule to keep players from griefing in quest hubs, then you're probably a low life ganker who can't survive long in the open world PvP we have available.

I played WoW on release through WoD. I've ALWAYS played on PvP servers.
Safespotting is griefing, not PvP. If you are in a safespot, then you need to stay out of combat. Personally, I don't mind if people want to hang out on roofs. The issue is when they attack players from within the range of guards. That was never intended to be in the game, it breaks immersion for people, and it's an unfair way to PvP. It's also a very lame thing to cry about. Go to Hillsbrad or something you filthy casuals.

Nostalrius staff - You really DO need to be careful about what rules you try and implement. This rule was a good choice. There are going to continue to be sour players complaining about it. Just remember that the majority of these complainers are unskilled gankers. They're toxic enough that most of the playerbase will not miss them.
