Here's an improvement. Ban camping quest points and flight paths.

When someone spends 2 hours out of 3 they can play running back to their body, there's a problem..and it's not "level, then"..because I can't level when I can't quest. Unless I want to instance..which I don't.

My suggestion would be to raise honor gained based on average ilvl of the gear of players in the match until there is no incentive to dodge premade queues.

It would be very boring for premades to only queue against each other.

I don't know why you'd claim that honor farming premades didn't exist in retail vanilla. My premade usually ran for about 100 hours a week. I was on one of WoW's original three servers, so the population was quite high and I had to grind well over a million honor per week to get my rank. This couldn't have been done without running a premade. Also, engineering and consumables shouldn't really be a big factor when a premade is going against a PuG.

Zygoth - I never said premades didnt exist on retail, I said hey didnt exist to the 24/7 level we are seeing on nost. If the premades were playing 100 hrs a week it wouldnt be as much of a problem. What we are seeing is 24/7 premades.

As for engineering not being a problem you must not have pvped on nost yet. Dont get me wrong im not saying to nerf it im just saying everyone of them has max consumables and multiple stuns available from engineering. Its not a fair fight and anyone who has pvped outside of the premades knows I t.

This servers pvp will die if people dont enjoy pvp. Right now 50 ppl dont enjoy it because there farming for gear and the rest of us dont enjoy it because were being farmed.

Ita honestly not that hard to understand. The admins can choose to do something about it or they can leave themselves open to a competitor providing a better experience.

We are not whining here because we loose , but because we simply can not pvp in bg's . The only good thing about yesterday's server crashes was that each time we logged in some of us qued before the ally premades and managed to meet pugs and in between crashes we actually managed to get some pvp done . After that since premades dodge one another from both factions pugs will never meet other pugs . If i meet a premade i dont pvp , if i join a premade i wont pvp since allies insta concede pug or the premade will just afk it out to get to the next bg to farm honor. Fix this already its beyond stupid!

I played vanilla during its golden age. Premades were a thing and on a high-ish population server it was maybe 1:3 chance to get rolled by R14. Not great, but good enough.

Now i'm not 60 yet so I have no exp in the matter. I wont sit here and throw a bitch fit like so many others.

no your suggestion is shit and so are you

lul, your tears give me power and your hatred makes you weak

This is true. I joined a rank chaser premade group way back when. 5 capping is ....boring.... as.... fuck..... It can hardly be called PvP. Honestly some of the trash that makes it to R13 is astounding. They never learn to really pvp worth a damn because most never had a challenge to improve themselves on(premade dodge) :!:

Now one of the coolest aspects of vanilla WoW was/is its capacity for community. Everyone knows the guy in full T3, or the guy with the new sick pvp vid. Wouldnt it be cool if [now follow me on this] all the R10+s were mixed in with the randoms? People would look up to that warrior whos close to R14 sword and gladly toss heals, etc. I guarantee you will have more fun as a PvPer than sitting at LM or Mine to ensure 5 cap, or having to deal with the shit-buckets that tend to run PvP groups.

Definitely DO NOT remove the ability to queue as a group :!:

Regarding original post:

Your inferences are correct regarding retail vanilla PvP. Typically there was one premade group per faction per server. On weekends, there could end up being two due to overflow, but it was the same core group. PUGs vastly outnumbered premades and there were far more Battlegrounds going on at any given time. Again, most of them PUG vs PUG.

Queue dodging occurred on occasion if you needed honor fast at the end of the weekend or if you were sick of hitting the same opposing premade after a couple times. (Note: AFTER having played them already). Fighting another premade was usually an event of excitement that people looked forward to - maybe not EVERY game, but it was fun. You generally respected the other team and looked forward to a competitive game.

Here, however, there are a whole lot of insecure people who are afraid of being showed up by another premade. It's not the time. It really isn't. It's fear and fragile egos. I'm just about Rank 10 now via pugging; you just have to pick your times carefully and not be a pussy.

The retail premades didn't run all day. Typically after work/school in the evenings and weekends. A lot of grinders would just hop into PUGs during the day if they didn't have work or school.

And you're correct. Hiding behind 9 or 14 other people isn't real PvP at all. That's just being a pussy.

Having pvp'd a ton in vanilla wow, I can say this current battleground experience is totally non-classic.

Yes, premades existed and you ran across one RARELY, but here it's nonstop and pugs just quit before the game even starts.

Battlegrounds were something you could jump in and play at a moments notice for a quick match and because of that were heavily populated by casual players. If the game becomes join a premade or get destroyed, the casual base dissapears and the difficulty curve or whatever to join pvp becomes so great that it will discourage new players to play.

Basically, cut raid queuing as OP suggested or better yet make it so raids only get matched against other raids and you'll see a huge improvement in the battleground quality of pvp
