And warlocks can fear kite almost anything, Mages can AE tons of mobs at one time, and shaman can kite elites and bosses with earthbind/frost shock

This is a bad thread, sorry

Hunters, warlocks, rogues, mages, shamans, druids... all very strong soloclasses that can easily
solo Devilsaurs for example, while warriors get pretty much stomped into the ground.

Whoever did a Q&A on the balance-department at blizztard should have been fired.

In my opinion this type of thinking - that everything has to be perfectly "balanced" and equal - is what caused WoW to go from being a great game to a shit game. One of the main things that made classic WoW great was that every class was unique and played differently from every other class, had it's own advantages and drawbacks, etc. It is "balanced" because you can choose whichever class you want to play. If the most important thing to you is being able to solo stuff, then you have the option to choose a hunter. If the most important thing to you is being able to tank and lead instances, then you have the option to choose a warrior. And so on. Classes don't all need to all be exactly as good as each other at everything in order to be "balanced". That just defeats the whole purpose of having separate classes. And really if this is how you feel, it's very odd that you would choose to play on a classic server.

If anything, TBC had the perfect balance.

Blizz trying (and ultimately almost achieving) to make every class (AND EVERY SPEC) as equal to any other killed the game for me...

Didn't Blizz originally intend for only one faction and everyone was going to play Paladin?
