A server with a peak of 3.000 players would be the best.

Actually no, people can take advantage of transfers, by levelling up carefree in the PvE server, and transferring to the PvP server when level 60 and fully geared.

Just because one enjoys playing against the environment doesn't mean that they want to level up again (also who's to say which environment someone is enjoying). Much the same as one that enjoys PvP doesn't enjoy being ganked 18 times and then corpse camped for the next hour by someone 30+ levels higher than them.

I mean if you don't like the PvE experience it's likely that you wont be joining the server anyway and it shouldn't matter whether or not people are allowed to transfer their toons.

Ok let me rephrase that: there is no plan to transfer to PvP only away from it. I am asking only for a transfer away as well

Why not wait for people to start hitting 60 on the server and THEN allow transfers?

What would be the difference?

I'd be totally okay with that compromise (especially seeing as that would only be about a week anyway).

Well people were saying they didn't like that there would be 60s immediately. That way people could level up like they're supposed to and then more can show up. I dunno. Just a thought.

There is no plan to transfer to the PvE server either so your point it moot.

How about a resounding "no." If your idea about Vanilla wow is speed-leveling to some magical end-game, you should re-visit what made vanilla so awesome in the first place. Perhaps your journey from 1-60 should be handled a bit differently; make friends, group up, run some dungeons that are level appropriate as opposed to thinking that something magical happens besides grinding countless more hours for ony or running MC.

Enjoy the ride, stop worrying about the levels, they will come. Take every opportunity to go out of your way to meet new people.
