We agree that the supply currently is too low for the demand and it will only get worse and we're taking steps to address it.

Hope i'm not reposting too much here but the way the herbs and mines affect the community is worse than what people might think when you see a post like this.

On peak hours there are over 6k players online, keep in mind, a lot of these players have been through this version of WoW already, say 40% are people who farm herbs on a regular basis for gold or self use?, that's 2400 people, and since 40% is such a low sweet number and the amount of people i took it out from was 6000 which is also low for a peak hour, where ofc people raid in most cases.

2400 people thats exactly 96% of an old retail server capacity (correct me if i'm wrong)
and in retail people were running around clueless, farming tyr's hand for dank memes and didn't know what hit rating was.
i'd be so blunt as to say that 20-30% of that community was herbing on a regular basis for potions that's 500-750 people and still there were hard times farming during peak hours when people came home from work.

Herbs respawns from 45 minutes to 1 hour "worked" in retail to sugarcoat, 750 people having at it
here on Nost where my, excuse my french, asspulling numbers of 2400 people approximately farm on a daily basis DOES NOT WORK, people have level 1's camping nodes because that's one of the most secure ways of getting black lotus, if every herbalist would multibox several account, the server would be smashed, not saying that the majority of the high end hardcore guild don't already use these methods.

My numbers might be off, but i don't think by much, i've given this quite the thought and done some rough research because this is something that is ruining the gameplay for many people, even the thought of you considering this is wrong, do it already.

Ofc my guild bank did that. We bought hundreds of plaguebloom stacks for a gold, 5 alcors for 300g each, imense amounts of elemental earth for 50s/stack, dozens of stacks of BL for 10g/each, many guild but whats the point of that, maybe a few day 1 guilds were in that position.
Making gold in vanilla is like knowing the market price next week, being able to invest and play with it without any risk at all.

Fact remains that you have like 3 times the vanila pop and 3 times the raiders as you had then so obviously the bottleneck supplies like plaguebloom are low. You can still make gold, but gold is always made by doing things that are in demand. If too many people do it, it doesnt work anymore because then the supply takes over or if you farm for vendor gold then its a classic case of inflation. So whats your big issue with adjusting herbs to a 3 times larger population simply because not everyone is capable of making large amounts of gold and if they WERE capable then these ways wouldnt work anymore

Preparing for the worst is good.

Complaining that the worst doesn't happen just because you prepared isn't.

What you can do at this point is to slowly sell off excess inventory. The price is after all unlikely to drop dramatically just because of this rather vague announcement. Note however that we don't yet know exactly how this will end and you might regret not keeping your herbs.

You take a risk either way.
