We'll need a database which will be on the same patch as the server will be.

What should be in it ?Every items with the correct stats ...
We can find 1.12 databases, such as valkyrie wow, but all the items are 1.12...

Well I don't want to have that.
It makes me sick all those "olol you don't have [insert fancy piece of gear], your [insert slightly less fancy piece of gear] is shit, you're not raiding with us" while I'd still be in top dps... Screw the databases and people thinking their "calculations" will get them anywhere... If you're not too much of an ass you'll be able to figure out that farming the dungeons will get you to a good point, and asking your mates where they found their equipment kind of helps.

Actually it shouldn't be that hard to create such a database. Nos has the data for the items already in their Database. Maybe they are going to create such a thing, otherwise I bet there will be players who are creating one. With help of AddOns it shouldn't be that hard

It's actually pretty easy for them to set one up. The wowheadish clone (AoWoW) that you see other private servers using is open source. It's a little rough out of the box but, would be really handy over combing though internet archive links.
