Restrict Cross-Faction

I understand that Nostalrius' team is looking to create a truly near-authentic experience, and so I'm here to propose something to ensure that.
I'm proposing that the staff prevent players from owning characters of both factions on the same IP.
This might not completely eradicate cross-faction, but it should deter a large bulk of players from engaging in cross-faction activities.
On a retail server, people wouldn't be able to make characters on both factions on the same realm, and unfortunately some additional measures have to be taken to make certain that this is the case on a private server.
Spying on other players to hunt them down, and communicating cross-faction, and various other advantages deteriorates faction versus faction gameplay, and damages the integrity of many of the game's aspects.
If people want to change factions, then maybe they can arrange with the developers to lock their current faction's account to begin the opposite faction one. Maybe it could be automated somehow.
I think that these restrictions should only apply if a person owns at least one level 60 character.

Won't work.
People who share the same IP wouldn't be able to play (if they played on opposite factions).
Also, people had multiple accounts back then as well. I think people should have the right to play whatever they like, Horde or Alliance.

@1 Same IP? They can ask for permission, shouldn't be an issue.
@2 Well this is a private server where anyone and their grandmother can have multiple accounts. If multiboxing or training isn't allowed (and it isn't), then this logic and opinion is sort of not respected here already.

It's a lot of extra hassle, both for players and Devs. That's negative shit, and I highly doubt there's a need for that.
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=979 Multiboxing is apparently allowed with certain restrictions.
And just because you have a character on both sides does not mean you play them simultaneously.

I believe it's positive. On all of the other private servers you've had people doing stupid stuff like spying on people, queueing for BGs on both factions, etc.
You can't do anything without the other faction knowing you're there. On my last private server, when me and some people tried to attack Alliance raids at their raid times, we used to have the Alliance check for us every time, and if we were there, they would all move unified, making it impossible to harm them.
That's just 1 example of how it hurts the game when it's that widespread.
Yes it would mean extra hassle for the people who are going to run this place, but it would be for a good cause.

Then it becomes multiboxing, which is not allowed, so problem solved. Also spying was a thing back in retail, especially for world bosses.

This was also a thing back in the days. I've done it and I didn't even need a horde character. All you need to know is a guild's raid days and times. Easy honor and definitely boosts the "hatred" between the factions as it in my opinion should be.

Yeah i like the idea of no cross factions and furthermore no multiple accounts for one person. But it's too hard to get it done imo, a shame i'd say.

So restrict someone from playing all their alt characters because "durr, no cross faction cuz its hard to do pvp stuff if spies"
Meaning I couldn't play my Paladin, my mage, my OTHER OTHER warrior, or my priest.
"reroll them horde!" yeah.. reroll them to a side I didn't pick because it didn't fit them or their character. Plus I already have TWO Orc Warriors (shaddup).
You see the outright dumb behind this idea yet?

I'd rather they spend their last week fixing remaining bugs than scratching their heads trying to figure out if they should limit factions by IP or not when it can be bypassed with 2 minutes of effort to figure out how to tunnel your WoW through a different IP on the same machine.

I had this UD Warlock called Cazzius on ED create a level 1 "spy" so he put it to keep an eye on me while I leveled my Night Elf Rogue. I noticed him log into said level 1 every now and then for a brief moment then he'd hop back onto his Warlock - find me and kill me. All because I killed Horde at Hillsbrad Fields. This happened for days.
There was one occasion where I commanded his time for like an hour straight and he couldn't find me. I was at Hillsbrad Foothills again but not at the fields so he was clearly scouting the entire zone for an hour. He must have logged into his spy at least 20 times. I'm not for or against cross-faction, I'm neutral on the matter but I find it hilarious how people can stoop so low to do that.
