It 's god damn amazing that you guys have 8k players, but this lag is NOT fun and relishing how many people there are is not worth it! Someone in my guild suggested a quicker dc time when afk. I suggest a queue even if it's after 7k players! We can still flex out epeen with 7k players online and 2k+ in a queue

Nothing is more annoying than getting a lag spike RIGHT AFTER a damn rogue cheap shots you. You may as well just alt f4 after that point cuz it's going to last 5+ seconds easily.

I wouldnt mind a queue at whatever they think is appropriate to have the limit be

The faster dc'ing is indeed a nice suggestion! Im sure they are looking into solutions to problems regarding the high amount of players, I myself has not had any lag but your idea is anyway very nice.

The problem with queue is that they can give new players a very bad first impression, I belive they will come up with a great solution

The suggestions that have been debated by the community so far are queues and a second realm/server. Both have their pros and cons, but in the end it's up to the Nostalrius dev team to come up with a viable solution - assuming the problem doesn't solve itself (i.e. population dies down naturally).

Is it possible for them to upgrade the server at its best?
What would it take for a server to handle 10k ppl with no lag?

They could be accepting donations with the reward a better server.

I agree with this. I wouldn't mind queueing for a bit, if it means the server is more reliable during peak hours. It's not like we didn't have queues back on BlizzWoW. As a USA west coast player, my ping tends to rise well above 200 during certain hours, and that's never nice. Having a higher player cap than classic Blizzard servers is okay, but there has to be a limit at a certain point.

Sitting in a queue for an hour or two when you only have a hour or two to play is pretty annoying.

"annoying" is when server lags like shit during peak hours, not queue

There already was an announcement about this. They've upgraded the software but need to upgrade the hardware now.
