Cancelling of already bided auctions

Hey

first most admit i dont rember from vanilla, but is it on purpose you can cancel your own aution at AH even when some one have already bided on it?
hive tryed bidding on some items only to go back after a couple of hours to se a mail what says the auction have been cancel?
as i see it is a kind of exploit when you can sit bid low and there by get higest on the page and then just cancel if the minimal valuse havent been exced for you?

You have always been able to terminate your own auctions even if it has bids on it.

You can cancel your auctions, and you could in retail as well.

You will lose your auction cut though.
