Account Suspensions for Threats

I think it should be a suspendable/bannable offense to threaten people with GM action for non-prohibited conduct (whether by pretending to be a GM or by insinuating a ban is forthcoming for reports made about the person).

There are some angry people in chat that feel the need to threaten others when chat isn't exactly how they'd like it, and I don't think it's acceptable to invoke the power of the GMs to push your own crusade against people who disagree.

Just my thoughts.

Best,

LC

Imitating, threatening, as well as scamming other players by either pretending to be a GM or claiming to be part of or affiliated with the Nostalrius team is defined as staff impersonation and is already a bannable offense as defined by the Terms of Use.

What AverageJoe said, although as a response to specifically this sentence.

It's not against the rules to tell a player that he's being reported to staff for breaking the Terms of Use, but the person should put the offender on ignore immediately afterwards. Although threatening a offender with a report to staff unless the offender gives the reporter something in exchange for being quiet. Would end up with the reporter being suspended.
