Donations Implication

Not sure if anyone has recommended this yet, but here goes:

I'm not sure why there isn't a donation sector available on the website for people to donate money for to help support and maintain the server. As many people dump hours and hours into this game, I'm sure a large portion of the players wouldn't mind throwing some money to help maintain the quality and smoothness of the server.

Obviously, problems are happening since I have been disconnected about 8 times today (7/12/2015) from server crashes and server lag. I know personally, I would be okay with throwing the Devs $20 to $50 to help them maintain the wonderful server they have worked so hard to create.

I would hate to see all of your hard work go to waste because you cannot maintain the servers.

Kind Regards,

From what I can tell, there's no donation section on the website because the staff chooses not to push such a concept onto the community. It's obvious by reading the web site and FAQs that there's absolutely no pay-to-win features nor donation rewards so it makes sense not to see sections of the web site plastered with or topics created solely to plead for or request donations.

There is one thread in the Announcements forum that has a subtle link for donations but that's about where it ends. I don't think the staff would've went forward with creating this server and maintaining it if they didn't have some kind of plan in place to host it for more than a few months. The population explosion, however, is an entirely different matter.

No pay-to-win features nor donation rewards is completely fine, but it does not prevent the staff to make the donations more visible. They should estimate the amount of money they need for an hardware upgrade and put a progression bar on the website.

Most servers that refrain from requesting donations/payments tend to be left alone by Blizzard. So I'd rather have the lag for a while than the server going away completely.

i think this is a good idea, a donation link for maintaining the server not the game shouldn't be a problem right?
