3 yard range 'directionless' cast zone

First, thanks for creating this server, it is amazing and I'm enjoying it very much.

This is a suggestion that Blizzard actually implemented at some point (I though it was actually during Vanilla at some point but not really sure).

I'm talking about the 3(5?) yard zone around a caster where you could cast behind yourself. This was done to make it so that caster vs. melee combat didn't involve the melee standing right on top of you (or just continually jumping through you) during a cast to get the 'Target needs to be in front of you' casting error. This was one of the greatest changes Blizz ever made and they admitted that it was not intended to be abused during PvP combat in order to cancel a cast.

It is pretty frustrating to be casting at a melee while they're chopping away at you and getting spell pushback the whole time, and then when it finally does go off the 'Target needs to be in front of you' error comes up because you couldn't even figure which way the server though you/them were facing.

I will love you forever if you do this...........

P.S. Fuck Rogues

Your goal as a caster should be to out range them. If they are on top of you, fear, sheep, freeze, root, do whatever to get them to stay put or move away.

You trolling me bro?

Yeah, that would be idealistic.........but not always possible for lots of reasons. I bet you can come up with about 10k scenarios where that isn't the case. Hamstring, crippling poison, a myriad of other things, Psychic Scream on a 26 second cooldown talented.

Truth is that jumping through people is really a way of abusing game mechanics that gives an advantage to melee over casters. Blizz realized this and fixed it.

You play a rogue? LOL

I play a Warlock, but I assume you will try to warp your argument in whatever way to better validate yourself regardless of the class I play.

Also I can't find any information on this directionless cast zone you are talking about, do you have a source? I played up to Cataclysm and can't recall this ever being in the game during that.

Yeah, what a nice fucking change it was, completely removing any need to be decent at turning your character whatsoever. Could as well win fights vs melees by keyboardturning, m8. You might as well suggest implementing endless mana like in MoP, because drinking after every 3rd fight is just sooooo hard.

Casters can tear through armor. One of the balancing factors to being a caster is we do better at distance, and worse when we are closer. Your job as a caster is to create that distance, not tank melee damage.
