Would be nice it announcements for "world" channel (both factions) could be turned off permanently.

You can use various commands for the chat.

/owner ChannelName

Display the channel owner

/announce ChannelName

turns announcement on/off for such channel

I'm asking this because ONLY the channel owner can turn announcements off.
I've tried to contact the owners many time with no success....

By announcement you mean "x has joined the channel"?

There's an addon called "NoJoinLeaveSpam" which disables this.
I have tested it on another server and it worked perfectly.
I haven't bothered yet to join any world channel on Nostalrius - Mulgore chat is already enough craziness to bear...
