Start it off slow

by pwlnpro » Mon Aug 24, 2015 6:06 pm

As we all know, yesterday's PvE server launch was a success, with 1.7k players peak while PvP realm had over 6.5k at the same time.

Administration said that the new server can hold up to 5k players without lags and drops, but they'll still limit the online only to 2.5k tops.

My suggestion is simple: start off with 2.5k, and after some time make a series of polls asking the players what they want next. Raise the online a bit, or leave it at 2.5k tops. This way the community will decide the future, and move on with it into the brighter times. But nevertheless, 5k must be tops at all times as we want PvP to stay as big as it is right now.

Server is still young, and it never saw light in some Private Server's community. I personally found it by accident from another player as I never saw this player on any top ratings nor described anywhere. This server has a lot of room to grow as it's online, latency, communication and operability tops all other projects out there while still being fully donate-free, which is exceptionally good for great future growth.

Thank you for your time, and let the future be bright for all of us!

I am completely lost as to what you just typed. Limit the new PVE server to 2.5k? Limit the playerbase so that the battleground and world pvp scene flourishes on the new pve realm? seriously I'm lost here...

Uhh, the 2.5k cap was only on the PvE test server, the real server will be uncapped like the pvp server.

Can we have more data about the specification of this server?
The PVE server shouldn't allow more than 2,500 players.

I think otherwise, and that's why I posted this.

I quoted the forum post by the administration. How is this fucking false?

Syrah's post doesn't specify whether they mean the test PvE realm or the live PvE realm. The post could be interpreted to mean after the PvE realm goes live permanently, it could be capped at 2.5K players. However, it can also be interpreted to mean the temporary 30 minute test PvE realm they did over the weekend was capped at 2.5K players.

I'm leaning more towards the latter simply because we have no news or announcement regarding the PvE realm itself aside from the brief 30 minute test they did over the weekend; doesn't make sense to talk about the properties of the live realm when there's no guarantee the test one even met their expectations.

I love the demands people put on Nos. "5k must be tops at all times" ummmm why? If they aren't going to put a population limit on the PVP server, there certainly is no reason to put it on the PVE server, especially since there aren't that many private PVE servers out there, it will hopefully be a huge draw for people to come over to Nos once (and if) the server goes live. It's madness to prevent people from joining.

It is because Nos let's doesn't put a population on the PVP server that has made it such a success. They'd would be crazy to cap the PVE server if more than 5k people want to join.

Sure, let's turn players away so they go to another private server with less population and therefore less ganking. That will really benefit Nos in the end. /sarcasm

Just think .. they could eventually be up to 3 servers if the hype keeps going .. how awesome would that be??!!! :D
