Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

I have that quest picked up for a long time in Alterac Mountains and after a month or so i picked up the ''Battle of Alterac'' quest(defeat drek'thar).The next AV i joined was winning and we won and i went to hand out the quest only to see that the moment i handed it the Korrak the Bloodrager quest with my BiS mage wand as reward had disappeared from my log !I went to the quest giver of that quest but he doesnt give it back.I know i can just buy a 50+ wand ''of frozen wrath'' but its not as good.Any ideas?
