Shamans and swords

by Rashgar » Sun Sep 13, 2015 12:18 am

Simple and straightforward suggestion: Allow shaman class to wield swords.

In vanilla and expansions that followed shaman class for some mysterious reason was denied to wield swords, some people might claim its because of lore reasons but lore doesnt state shamans and swords are contradictory and that loose lore argument doesnt make sense considering other classes having wierd weapon options like Warriors using staves, Paladins using axes, Rogues using maces etc.

This feature would not have negative impact on the game itself or other classes since it wouldnt in any way nerf or damage them, if anyone has strong arguments on why this suggestion is bad post them but please refrain from using the "Blizzlike" buzzword because Blizzard itself has made many mistakes in both vanilla and other expansions which didnt make sense.

For the end is example of shaman wielding swords ingame http://imgur.com/WW3kaoV

its non-blizzlike and a pointless edition. it would bring nothing but more people rolling on swords, we already have hordes of rogues and warriors who need swords, now you want to bring in a nonsensical edition of shamans to take them too.

Aren't most of the healing weapons in the game 1H maces? Why do you even need to use swords?

That's the thing, having things that don't make sense is part of the experience. For example - gear quality color doesn't say anything about it's actual usefulness - it's up to player to decide what's good and what's bad, instead of blizzard deciding it for them. If we start "fixing what blizzard did wrong", you would end up with a different game.
