Increase maximum terrain render distance

Would it be at all possible to increase the maximum render distance/reduce the amount of terrain fog?

I can understand why those limitations were put in place back in 2004, but cellphones today have better rendering capabilities than gaming rigs back then, and it'd be nice to be able to set the graphics settings to see a bit farther into the distance.

I believe you can do this with console commands, but reducing or removing the fog has the drawback of seeing missing segments of terrain. I don't think they can add something like that and fix the graphical gaps without altering the game client, something they are heavily against.

Yeah i want to have more far draw distance for grass. This is server side option, not in client i suppose.

You can do it yourself, I am saying to add the option into the game is a client side changed. If you want to change the view distance go here.

horizonfarclip, unitDrawDist, and textureLodDist are what you want to change.
