Hello Nost Devs,

First off, thank you for the great server! It's been a pleasure playing here and reliving the Vanilla WoW experience so kudos to you guys :)

I wanted to humbly make the following suggestion for you guys to review/contemplate given that with the latest circa 1.6 BWL patch that went live last week, some notable changes affected the Paladin Tier 2 Judgement Set in particular.

For a bit of context, here is what Nano had to say in a private message conversation that he and I had over the summer regarding multiple Judgements on the same target:

Nostalrius is based on a 1.12 server and all the class talents, spells and abilities that are also 1.12. The only things that change are content available and itemization. This means quests, raids, item stats, items availability.

If it's not something that was possible during 1.12, it should be made impossible on Nostalrius. I know it seems screwy to have spells in one patch and items in another but it's the decision of the server made long ago and one we will stick by. For example, the Warlock spec of DS / MD / Ruin was fixed as that spec was fixed in 1.12 and we fixed that on Nostalrius as well.

Likewise, a bit of WoW History shows that Tier 2 Judgement armor along with every other class' Tier armor had a chance to drop in Molten Core:

Prior to this patch, Molten Core boss creatures could drop items from one of two different tiered sets for every character class. The loot tables have been changed so Molten Core bosses will now only drop items from the lower tier class sets. However, some of the items from those sets were not previously dropping in Molten Core. These missing class set items will now drop in Molten Core, allowing players to complete their lower tier class sets. The higher tier class set pieces that once dropped in Molten Core will be found once again in Blackwing Lair, the next raiding zone scheduled for release in a future patch.

With that being said, Paladins are in a bit of a conundrum Tier gear wise seeing as all of the STR was removed from the Judgement set with the BWL patch and the set won't be re-itemized until the circa patch 1.9 is launched on Nostalrius along with AQ.

Unfortunately, since Nostalrius Begins is a hybrid private server with 1.12.1 abilities/spells/talents, the gear isn't currently available in order for us to utilize specific talents specs with the gear limitations.

For example, Seal of Command is set to the patch 1.12.1 ratio of 7 PPM of 70% of weapon damage as Holy and supposed to be given a hefty boost from +spell dmg but with current patch settings should be based at patch 1.6 levels of 5 PPM and 100% of weapon damage as holy. Likewise Judgement of Command's damage can only be improved by +spell dmg and yet we have none.

Prior to the 1.6 BWL Patch on Nostalrius, Paladin Tier 2 Judgement Armor had Retribution heavy stats with loads of STR but the set bonuses were from the circa Patch 1.9 set when they should have Retribution based set bonuses primarily:

Set Bonuses:

3 pieces: 20% chance to deal 300 additional Holy damage whenever you cause a critical hit in melee.
5 pieces: Reduces the casting cost of all your Seals by -20.

Currently, we have proper 1.6 stat allocation but still the patch 1.9 set bonuses when they should be different:

Set Bonuses:

3 pieces: Increases the radius of a Paladin's auras by 10.
5 pieces: Reduces the casting cost of all your Seals by 20.
8 pieces: Inflicts 118 to 132 additional Holy damage on the target of a Paladin's Judgement.

TLDR - would it be possible to just adjust the Paladin Tier 2 Judgement set to patch 1.9 stats and set bonuses and be done with it?

Set Bonuses:

3 pieces: Increases the radius of a Paladin's auras by 10.
5 pieces: Increases damage and healing done by magical spells and effects by up to 47.
8 pieces: Inflicts 60 to 66 additional Holy damage on the target of a Paladin's Judgement.

I for one, would be more than happy with that type of scenario - what do you guys think?

it is bit annoyed where our retribution abilities/talents are based on 1.12 and sets are based toward 1.6.

meanwhile d1/d2/t2/t2.5/naxx are official Retribution Paladin sets on 1.12 based on our abilities/talents. (all those sets gives sp + str which are both improving/increasing command damage)

unlike that - we have seal of command now 1.12 and there is no spell damage to boost it's dps by tier 2 .

so bring us abilities that suppose to be at 1.6 or bring us the paladin set that suppose to be at 1.12

thank you

I am pretty much going with the flow, taking each patch step by step is something a server has yet to do. Nost seems to be going well, and doing things right. They still have lots of bugs to fix and work on, while maintaining patch updates every new content release.

Ultimately, it will be fixed to the final 1.12 settings and that is when we should look for fixes, balance checks.

I'm all for switching the Judgment set to give it the STR/set bonuses it completely should have.

He's saying that Seal of Command isn't being boosted by spell dmg at all or sanctity aura just like back on peenix.

I think they are too worried about unforseen balance problems that would arise from changing sets around. Things like this are what community polls could really benefit from, hope you pallys get your fair shake by nost.
