Willing to donate for a purification of Ashbringer quest

Much like Rhok'delar, it would need to be hard to do and possibly specific to Paladins. I've been told for years that there was a quest, and had even seen someone with it at the start of retail's Burning Crusade. However, upon looking for the quest (to ready myself for what's to come) it seems I saw a hacker? I've wanted to get ahold of Ashbringer ever since I heard it was being included into Naxx40 on vanilla retail. However my guild only made one attempt into Naxx40 before it was removed. I'm already planning on donating money to the server next month. If Naxx40 could be released with the addition of an Ashbringer Purification quest, I'd be willing to donate paycheck upon paycheck.

It was just speculative rumors about the scarlet purification questline. Only GMs could actually get a 'purified' original Ashbringer via item spawning or what have you. Considering there were actually a lot of GMs its more likely you saw one of them rather than a hacker.

While it would be neat, lets be honest, something so iconic and legendary to vanilla shouldn't be trifled with, it ruins the nostalgic feeling if you see a random guy with ashbringer in goldshire.

This post sounds more like you want to buy something, which is perfectly fine when you're a customer. But you're not, you're just a fan/player like the rest of us. I realize that every one would get the advantage but it's still something you personally would like to sway into the game.

You sound no different than twitch chat saying they'll donate money for the streamer to do a handstand but clearly never will.

They messaged me back though and never had their GM tag up, saying that you had to go to Naxx40, get Corrupted Ashbringer to drop, then do a long questline. I wouldn't think a GM would do that, but there's been crazier stories. So it's possible.

That's what a suggestion is for. If I were offering to donate to give my characters in-game items, that would be MUCH different. However, I'm not. I'm just asking to complete a part of the game which Blizzard apparently never did.

And if a dev would contact me I could arrange it however they wanted for whatever payment they'd want. I could donate before, or after. It was my childhood dream as the 2nd top ret paladin on my retail vanilla server, and 4th top dps in the 2nd best guild on the server, to wield the purified Ashbringer. I'd pay to see that become a possibility on a server where you actually have to earn what you have on characters, not have it given to you upon character creation like most other garbage servers. Thus the reason I'm going to donate some with or without it implemented. I like the server, but I'll like it better once it's complete.

I understand that the 714 damage on proc is a bit extreme for anyone whining "but but but, it's just too oooppp :'(". That's why I'd recommend it's proc be nerfed, but that's up to the developers and if they want to even implement it at all, then they can decide if they want to tweak it.

They have made it clear in the past that donations are only to support the upkeep of the server.... they are not player influenced development contracts...

I could not find anything about that on the forum, but thank you for the information. I suppose I'll send them my originally planned donation, then use the several thousand dollars on building a server with the quest included. Though it being a private server exclusive to myself and RL friends (keeping it from being public will keep me from dealing with the headache of putting together a staff and fending off hackers), will make acquiring Corrupted Ashbringer (to start the quest I'll create) a little difficult or ungratifyingly easy. Oh well, a project to work on in the future.
