Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

You know.... I was thinking about one thing.

Followed by the topic I made not long ago, I got a suggestion. It probably won't be accepted, but I feel it could be worth giving it a shot.
Nostalrius already has a vibe of a legit game ran by some indie company, if you let yourself loose and dive in you will completely forget that you are playing on private server.
Many youtubers confirmed that. This is the only private server which shook the retail playerbase hard.
This is only server whose staff is not acting like it's a damn private server. They are acting as paid professionals. Their hard work is recognized by a massive playerbase and overall great critics on internet.

With all that said I wonder one thing.
Why is our realm name Nostalrius Begins PvP / PvE ??

OK, I get it. It's our server's name. But why wouldn't we name REALMS by some stuff from the lore, locations or whatever else you can think of that is related to game you guys are offering us to play.

It would be much better to say that you play on ummmmm leeetsss saaaayyy..... Ragnaros realm on Nostalrius.
Now I can already smell some guys coming at me with "get lost RP fegget!!" but I prepared for such superstars before I came here to post this, so come at me bro. Give your best shot!

It's just that your server has 2 realms, both named by server name and divided by labels. Why?
I think that it would be much more immersive if realms had their own lore based names.
I think it would make your server look more professional, more as a standalone mmo and not another private server. Don't get me wrong, Nostalrius already stands out, it's just that with such details it would be even more awesome than it already is.

Whatever the outcome of this post is, I'm having great time here and you guys are already doing an amazing job. Keep it up!

I support this. It's a simple change that would indeed add to immersion while logging in, or changing realms. Ragnaros is good. I also like Ysera, but any lore worthy names would be cool. +1

I said Ragnaros just cuz it fell on my mind first. Didn't mean it as suggestion for name...

I totally agree! It is indeed these small details that add to the total feeling of the server. I played on another server which has to server that was both named after lore. It was awesome!

Luckily this is not a impossible task and really, it doesn't have any kind of backlash. How not to like it.

Many add-on configuration files make use of the realm name. If they were to change the realm name from 'Nostalrius Begins PvP' to 'Ragnaros' for example, you would have to rename every occurrence of 'Nostalrius Begins PvP' to 'Ragnaros' for all files under WorldofWarcraftClassic/WTF/Account.

when the PvE realm came out, they renamed 'Nostalrius Begins' to 'Nostalrius Begins PvP' and it broke everyone's addons.

I support the realm names actually having in-game lore value. That and getting rid of the "PvP" and "PvE" will also be rid of that annoying tautology where those words are repeated twice at the character select screen.

Don't know why would you like this to happen, I indeed like the idea, but 'tis not a retail, a private server using a 'Stormrage' is just a spit to the face imho.
This is not retail, do not give it that treatment.

Changing realm names will fuck up a TON of addons by the way. No thank you. The nightmare of re-configuring/editing addons after the implementation of the PvE server was enough.

Yep, I realized it could mess up few addons.

I am willing to take that "sacrifice" tough, it's like 30mins of work to get it back as it was.
