Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Hello,

I am a developer with now about 4 year of professional experience, and 3 years of university with a specialization in security.

I am wondering if there is an API or something to read informations about the realm (players, guilds, AH...) ?

I don't have so much time to give but i think it could be a very good thing for Nostalrius if some tools are created (off-game chat, server specific armory, view of the AH...)

I am very new on your server and started playing on official at the end of Vanilla, in my opinion Nostalrius is pretty good reflection of the original with a big & great community, in short I LOVE IT.

I've easily seen a dozen threads on this forum of someone wanting to make an AH app/Armory etc., none of them have been successful. as far as I know it is impossible when limited to the 1.12 client API.

Another option to gather some data could be realmplayers http://realmplayers.com/About.aspx

There's already an armory on http://armory.digam.dk/ - including character signatures and achievements.

Okay, i was thinking we can established a direct protocol between the 3rd party program and the server informations/databases to have something always up-to-date and reliable.

I think it is possible but i never work on a Wow Server, i presume that it is complicated to set up on server side and the devs have most important things to do.

Concerning AH and Chats it's the same problem, if there is something to do, you know where you can find me !

however you will only get information of things happening in your viewing distance (~60 yards)

without server side support you'll never be able to have an up to date database or similar.
being able to get information of a few thousand players would make the server lag

My ex wotlk realm PAYED alot for such stuff. Server only armory, arena leaders, top achievement lists, top hk lists... thats great stuff to have.

I wish Nost staff would allow you to do such stuff here since you are eager to do it.
