Modify it so there's no player owner, and put announcements off by default.

The world chat is NO offical channel moderated by the sfaff.

Use general or trade instead if that bothers you

Installation

• Extract zip archive
• Rename folder from NoJoinLeaveSpam-master to NoJoinLeaveSpam
• Move to your AddOns directory

Usage

• /njls mute <channel name>
• /njls unmute <channel name>
• /njls muted
  for a list of currently muted channels

So just do /njls mute World and you won't see join / leave messages for that channel again.

I usually just whisper the owner to do /ann world, would be just simpler if it was moderated. Also less abuse by trolls who ask for owner.

World chat NEEDS to be maintained by SERVER STAFF. It is a UNIVERSALLY USED CHANNEL; it's private server tradition. Leaving it in the hands of some RANDOM PLAYERS gives those players POWER for NO REASON. World chat SHOULD BE OPEN TO EVERYONE who is playing on the server.
