I've seen a few topics with people suggesting things outside of the scope of a strict vanilla emulation server. The devs here are going for as close of an authentic vanilla experience as possible and I think that's great. But it seems like there might be some interest in an "improved vanilla" realm: a vanilla realm with some common sense improvements. Think stuff like class and spec balance to make non-viable specs viable, backporting minor convenience features, and other minor improvements to the game that weren't in the original but make a lot of sense. Stuff that isn't "authentic vanilla" but still makes sense and would arguably make the game better while still maintaining the feel and good content of vanilla. These changes would be limited to things that were almost universally well-received by the player base, so things like dungeon finder would be excluded since a lot of people don't like that.
There are several existing suggestion threads up right now that would fit into this kind of thing. Right now, they're impossible to implement with the current goals of the server. Some of them are good ideas, though, and would fit great into a realm whose purpose up front is to improve vanilla a bit.
