Different faction characters on same account

Just checked and found out that creating characters of both factions on one account is possible all of sudden. What gives? This definitely wasn't the case on release. I thought the server wanted to keep this aspect blizzlike?

There would be no point in restricting it because you can just make two accounts if you want characters on the other faction, since there's no subscription. The way it is now is a minor convenience improvement that doesn't actually impact the game comparatively.

If they decided to limit one account per person, that would be a different story, but I don't see them doing that any time soon if it would even be possible.
