Give Us A Reason to Donate

Greetings Nostalrius staff and players,

I have been enjoying my time on this server since it's release . I feel that it is one of the best servers out there at this time. However it is still a private server and private servers usually require donations to maintain themselves. I don't know how many people are going to donate just out of the kindness of their hearts however. I also highly doubt you will get many donations even if you give small 'non game breaking' rewards.

I'd like to see this server do well, not only for us players but for the staff as well. SO here is what I am suggesting...

I believe it would be in the best interest of the server to offer an increased leveling rep or honor buff for a donation fee of say anywhere from 4.99 to 9.99 (USD I'm a stateside player so convert that into whatever euro amount would be to your liking.) You could figure a way for this 'buff' to only apply to one character and only last 30 days or a week or something to profit the server a little more. I think people would be very willing to donate for that. I'm not talking some crazy high rate. I mean something like x4 TOPS. No need to go overboard.

I love that this server doesn't 'sell gear' for donations and I say good job! NEVER sell gear. I'm even against selling gold. However even a monkey who plays this long enough will hit max level at some point or will grind out enough rep at some point...farm enough honor etc... So why not fund your server with those out there who wish to quicken the process?

Now I understand a lot of you on the message boards here are very purist and elite with this blizz like realm stuff. I understand and I respect your opinion on the matter...However this is a suggestion thread it was made for posting your opinion and here is mine. At the end of the day a private server is a private server and needs funding. IMO this would be the best way to do this.

If you want donations your going to have to offer the players something worth having. AGAIN all of this is just my opinion. I will not engage in a flame war with any of you. I have said what I wanted to say, I hope the staff consider it. I am now moving on. Thanks.

Well, I've been wondering if they get enough money, I mean, people are hype about it now and are probably donating here and there, but what about in the future, people might not be as hyped and donation-willing, so this can be taking into consideration, even tho I vote against everything that buffs, so something that doesn't give an advantage to others, whilst still being worth donating for, such as a race faction or visa versa.

race and faction gives massive advantages as well....

Donating means not receiving anything of it, else it's called buying.

I'd donate ten bucks to get you banned from the server.

Integrity is an important thing to a private server for a lot of people, including me. I honestly wouldn't see myself playing on a server where you can get level 60 twice as fast by simply donating.

I've played live since TBC and still do (Although I've taken a break now) and on live leveling is pretty trivial, hence the level 90 boost is being tolerated. In vanilla however, leveling to 60 is a feat on it's own, it was back in the day and it should stay that way for it to feel truly Blizzlike

I understand that people want an incentive to donate, but in-game rewards simply aren't the answer for that.
