In-Game Bug Reporting (Questions and Answers Thread)

I have read other threads that discuss this in part, but I want to get the full scoop out there because I want this server to continue to be the best out there and reporting issues is how we do it! This information should be stickied somewhere I think.

Note: I still need an answer to question 2 if anyone here can provide the answer.

              IN-GAME BUG REPORTING
Question 1: How do I bring something to the attention of a Game Master or a member of the Development team in-game?

  • Answer : You navigate to the red question mark found in the lower right hand corner of your screen and then:
      • To reach a GM: make a ticket under the "I'm Stuck" tab.

      • To reach the Development Team: make a ticket under any other tab (note that you will not receive an answer but your ticket will be received.


Question 2: Why did my ticket go? (I still need an answer to this question if someone can provide it)

  • Issue:
      When you create a bug report you are notified that a "bugreport" has been created. If you check on your bug report by navigating back to the menu where you made it, WITHOUT LOGGING OUT, it will still be there. However, if you log out of your character, and then log back in and check, the text that you typed in has been erased.

      Does this mean that you have to stay logged in in order for the bug report to be saved, or once it is created it is sent to the development team and you can log out, and the disappearing text is a non-issue because they have already received the bug report?

I take it anything in-game that doesn't pertain to something being broken or bugged is a job reserved for a GM via the "I'm Stuck; Page a GM" button? Examples include level 1 chat spammers, exploiters, botters, offensive names, harassment, etc.?

Whereas anything else in-game likely to be broken or bugged is a job reserved for the development team? Examples include any type of glitch or exploit, NPCs not spawning, uncompletable quests, etc.?

I submitted a bug report a few weeks ago but I noticed not all the categories in the Help menu let you submit a bug report (I think it was "Technical Issues" that wouldn't let you). Since this is a private server, does it matter which category you submit a bug report through or do all bug reports go to the same individuals who sort them accordingly?

Also, does the staff prefer to be notified about bugs in-game through the bug reports or on here in the forums with a thread under "Suggestions?"
