Day 2: Herb Changes

Well, Day 2. As I explained in my previous thread:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6140This is my 2nd iteration about herbs. (probably goes for mining too but meh). You stated you adjusted a.k.a customized the spawn rates to mirror a blizzlike economy; however, this server is not blizzlike in it's capacity. I don't fault you for thinking hey, lets control the economy and scale back herbs. But the implementation was botched. Before the change there wasn't a flood of herbs in the market. There is actually a forum post from before the change asking for more spawns. Currently it's a borderline joke trying to farm for your weekly consumables. I'd ask that you use your previous logic, the newfound data you have from your current herb fix, and give the rate a moderate increase to properly align with your initial reasoning. As it stands right now the reasoning you used to explain the new herb spawn rates doesn't match the actual fix you put in.
See you tomorrow with a new thread

Herb market has yet to stabilize and probably won't for at least another couple months regardless as more raiding guilds get to 60, so its really hard to accurately comment on how many herbs are out there at the moment honestly. I suspect if population continues to be this large, or even not as large, we will be short on herbs long term, but its really hard to say.

I'm still seeing a decent amount of mining nodes--at least in the later zones--and herb prices remain relatively stable. I'm interested in knowing how their system works

Just took a full lap in azshara. 2 sansam, 2 sungrass. Granted Grizzly was there. Assuming they are taking the nodes.
As far as the market is concerned: prices have stayed the same so far because the change is only days in effect. My assumption is that the nodes being collected aren't going to market, they are going to production. Thus the market isn't affected yet. Supply has been affected already. It's evident if you try and farm herbs at all.
2 hours in winterspring 30 Silversage, 1 lotus
1 hour in azshara 6 sansam 4 sungrass 3 purple lotus
1 hour in steppes 7 dreamfoil 2 silversage
1 hour in felwood 9 gromsblood 3 plaguebloom 4 dreamfoil
Did these at different times of the day over the last 48 hours. Not enough enough for my own consumables let alone profit. I'm not worried about it affecting the market yet. That will be evident in a couple weeks when more guilds raid and herbs are not to be had. There isn't even that many consumes on the AH because people are using them over selling them. Doesn't really make sense to me why this would be their desired state.

I think that population is slightly above blizzlike, but in 2006 5k~ was the capacity. You really have no room to complain when there aren't even that many level 60s on the realm yet.
The real difference between this realm and a retail one is that everyone seems to have goals, and there are a lot more people actually diving fully into herbalism and maxing it out than retail. Also, you don't have to use so many consumables; people never did that either. The mindsets of people are different.
I don't think we should accommodate the fact that people have different interests here than retail. Most consumables don't even stack, so I don't understand why you're trying so hard.

Can confirm this, herbs are have a terrible spawn time atm. impossible to farm to sell, or even to gather for own consumables with this many players.

They were adjusted to blizzlike values. Not everyone on blizzlike servers used consumables. People are flasking in MC right now. Why should Nostalrius have to accommodate autism?

I find it hard to believe that herbs had a 45 min respawn, ever. I may be wrong though

And that's bullshit. You're either trolling lying or dumb not to realise someone is herbing on the same rotue as you, except he's slightly ahead.
